This series uses shapes and textures to investigate impressions of familiar places that are not tied to any specific location or moment in time. Whether it is the view from an airplane window, the reflection in a lake, or a construction site, the subjects are recognizable and have a universal accessibility. They are purposefully abstracted so that they blend into a single narrative that shifts through city and country, ground and sky. An effortless movement that represents the hazy elements of memories that show themselves in the pattern of the sidewalk or in the way water pools in the shallow of a river. A unifying stillness accompanies these images allowing a closer inspection of moments that would otherwise go un-investigated.
